13th November 2018

We are already over half way through the term and so much has happened already. As well as our inspection (the report can be found here), there have been trips to the London Assembly, Waltham Forest Town Hall, local places of worship and Suntrap Forest Education Centre. There are lots more to come, please have a look at the dates in this newsletter. In assemblies we have been learning about black female leaders as part of our work in Black History Month and we are talking about Rememberance Day and Anti-Bullying week too.  Please ask your children about it!

A quick reminder: If your child has been absent or has medication to take, please speak to school office not the class teacher.

Parent Governor Election

Please don't forget to vote in the parent governor election. Governors have a vital role to play in the leadership in our school and information about them can be found here.

Your ballot papers can be posted in the red post box in the school office. The closing date is Friday 16th November.

Anti-Bullying Week

Starting on the 12th November, it is Anti-Bullying Week. The year's theme is CHOOSE RESPECT. Children will learn:

  • the definition of respect
  • that bullying is a behaviour choice
  • that we can respectfully disgaree with each other i.e. we don't have to be best friends or always agree but we do have to respect each other
  • that we all need to choose to respect each other both face to face and online.

More advice for parents can be found here and there are some great ways to talk to your child about the computer usage below. It is never too soon to start the conversation.
