Newsletter 14th September

Welcome to the first newsletter of the year. As you can see there are lots of dates for your diary. Please keep an eye on the school calendar which can be found here. Lots of dates are on here, including the dates of the Christmas plays.

We have also started our series of coffee mornings held in the Glassroom on a Friday. They have a particular topic and are a chance to ask questions, chat to other parents and learn a bit more about life at Gwyn Jones. If you have a particular topic you would like, please don't hesitate to ask.

Also on the website is the new school dinners menu which can be found below. You could talk about this with your child so they choose what they want for dinner in advance.

We know that children may be ill from time to time, especially at the start of term when they are getting used to all the germs again! We rely on parents/carers from Nursery upwards to inform us of children's absences. This can be done via our school's email, PMX, telephone or in person at the front office.

Children absent for 4 days or more must provide school with medical evidence to avoid an un-authorised mark. This can be in the form of:an appointment card/letter,medication packaging, text from the medical practice or other prescription. Reported absences does not automatically authorise a child's absence.

Today you will be getting a Parentmail about our lovely PTSA. They have given so much to the school and plan some fantastic events which the children love. We rely on them for the special extras which mean so much for the children, for example: library books, storytellers, special resources for arts weeks, years books and even a climbing wall for the playground!

A few hours of your time can have a massive impact on your child and you can give as much or as little time as you want. It is also a great way to meet other parents and carers. The Annual General Meeting is on Thursday 27th September at 7:30pm in the Glassroom which can be accessed from Forest Road.

Thursday, 27th September at 7:30pm in the Gwyn Jones Glass Room.
