Dear Parents and Carers,

September has flown by and already we are in October. It was great to see so many people here for Parents' Evening for Reception to Year 5 this week. I hope it was useful and you had a chance to meet your child's new teacher.

Below are some important dates from me and from the PTA. There's a lot going on this half term!

40th Birthday

Thank you all for coming the 40th Birthday celebrations- I hope you all enjoyed it. The children had a great time in the morning where they played on lots of different games and activities and then we all had a shared lunch.

After our celebration assembly with ex-head teachers Ms Bott and Ms Thomas, many of you stayed to look at photos and enjoy some of the amazing cake provided by Isobelle and Austin's Mum. Thank you again Cleo! It was a lovely day and I hope the children will all have fond memories of it for the next 40 years.

The school was featured in the Waltham Forest Guardian- please have a read!

Trips and costings

A few parents have asked about the pricing of school trips. School trips are always heavily subsidised by the school- for example the cost of 2 classes to go to Suntrap for the day is £790 (this includes £380 for the coach) of which we ask for a contribution of £7.50 each (£450 in total) .

Any trip which has a cost will be for either transport or for a special teaching session in a museum e.g. the Museum of Childhood. We try to plan a mixture of free trips (using public transport) and paid trips which give the children access to Education services provided by otherwise free to enter museums.

If you have any more questions about this, please see the Charging and Remissions Policy or feel free to ask me any questions.

Building Work

Next week, work begins on the Glassroom which is the room which will be used for Games Club at lunchtime and for other interventions and lessons throughtout the day. The KS2 climbing frame has already been moved and work has started to redevelop the space next to the mobiles. Work will be finished after half term. Watch this space!
