9th September 2016

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to a new year! It has been brilliant to see everyone back safe and sound and to hear all about your exciting summers. Everyone has settled in really quickly and I have already seen lots of exciting work: from Anglo Saxon houses to lots of inspirational Maths, it has been a great start.

You will read about the building work which has taken place but we also nearly ready to launch our new school website- I will contact you over the next few weeks with the address. There are a few new faces on our staff who I am sure you will meet soon: Ms Hylton who works in year 1 and Ms Ozerek who works in year 3. I look forward to a great term ahead!

New School Logo

The results of Gwyn Jones Logo Referendum are in! Our new logo is at the top of this page and we are really proud of it so thank you for all of your suggestions. We will gradually begin using it in school over the next 12 months and there is no need to change uniforms.

Uniform & PE Kit

Everyone looks so smart in their new uniforms this week. Below is the link if you would like to buy embroidered uniform: http://www.tesco.com/direct/gwyn-jones-primary-school/6673.school

Please remember that children need suitable black shoes for school as they will be running round at break times and lunchtimes. For P.E. from year 1, children need a white t-shirt and black shorts or tracksuit bottoms or jogging bottoms with trainers. Please make sure they have their name in them as they can often get misplaced! Your class teacher will tell you when your child’s P.E. day is.

Lovely new toilets were installed and the space was increased so that the children have lots of space to explore all the different activities. You are very welcome to pop your head in and have a look.

We have some spaces in our afternoon Nursery from 12:15pm to 3:15pm.

If you or anyone you know has a 3 year old, or child who is turning 3 this term, please pop into the office and let them know. We would love to see you!
